National Fire Prevention Week 2019
Since 1922, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has publicly sponsored Fire Prevention Week. This week long campaign is always observed the week of October 9th in memory of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 that killed more than 250 people and left over 100,000 homeless. Each year, this week is dedicated to increasing public awareness about fire prevention and safety.
