Title of course: Associate Safety Professionals (ASP) Prep course
Course Description: Pre course for Associate Safety Professionals (ASP) are persons who performs at least 50% of professional level safety duties including; are making worksite assessments to determine risks, potential hazards and controls, evaluating risks and hazard control measures, investigating incidents, maintaining and evaluating incident and loss records, and preparing emergency response plans. Other duties could include; hazard recognition, fire protection, regulatory compliance, health hazard control, ergonomics, hazardous materials management, environmental protection, training, accident and incident, investigations, advising management, record keeping, emergency response, managing safety programs, product safety and/or security.
Topics include but not limited to: Class will cover the following Site Safety Training (SST):
- ASP exam description
- Calculator review
- Basic Math/Trigonometry
- Business Principles, Practices and metrics in SHE Practice
- Measuring, Evaluating and Controlling SHE Hazards
- Recognizing SHE Hazards/SHE Training and management
- Program Overview
Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites for the course. Students must speak the language in which the course is given.
Course Materials: This course consists of several different components which include power point presentations, lecture, real life case studies, class discussions.
Course Duration: 24 Hours of training (not including class breaks)
Course and attendance Policy: Students must earn a 70% or more in their final exam in order to successfully complete the training. Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.
