Course Required for: Licensee Continuing Education

Purpose: This course is a requirement for an individual’s qualification to perform periodic inspection of gas piping systems in New York City on and after January 1, 2019.

Duration: 7 Hours of instructional time, excluding breaks & meals

NYC Requirement: To perform periodic inspections of gas piping systems under the direct and continuing supervision of a licensed master plumber, as covered in Article 318 of title 28 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York, the applicant must have at least five years of full-time experience working under the direct and continuing supervision of a licensed master plumber. In addition, the applicant must satisfy the qualification requirement by completing this training program as mandated by the rules of the Department and submit a Certificate of Completion to the Licensing & Exams Unit for 7 hours of training.

  • Interior Piping Leak Survey
  • Hands-on Gas Indicator Instruction
  • Jurisdictional/Non-jurisdictional Piping Connections
  • Purging Gas Piping Into/Out of Service
  • Recognizing Illegal Connections and Substandard Conditions
  • Reporting and Documenting Inspections
  • Atmospheric Corrosion and Leak Survey Inspection Procedure
