Title of course: 4 Hour - Supported Scaffold - Live Remote Instructor-Led
Course Description: Chapter 33 of the New York City Building Code requires anyone who works on a supported scaﬀold to complete an initial 4-hour User course and then an approved 4-hour User Refresher Course every 4 years. In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction worker is required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the training (As per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 also known as ‘LL196’ or ‘Local Law’).
Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites for the course. Students must speak the language in which the course is given.
Audio / Visual required for the class: computer with Audio and camera or a smart phone (a link to download the application will be sent)
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to but not limited to:
- Identify the types, nomenclature and definitions of a scaffold.
- List and identity the different types of fall protection needed when working on a scaffold.
- Recognize the permit requirements needed in order to comply with Chapter 33 of the Building Code.
- Describe and identify common supported scaffold hazards.
- Classify the Federal and City scaffold regulations.
- Apply safe work practices at their construction sites based on prudent decision- making.

Course Duration: 4 Hours of training (not including class breaks)
Course and attendance Policy: Complete class syllabus, class materials, and class link distributed prior to the class. Students must earn a 70% or more in their final exam in order to successfully complete the course. Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.
